The Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna wins the Venice Classics Award at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival with Long night in 1943 by Florestano Vancini. This is an important recognition of the enormous work of preservation and promotion of film heritage that the Cineteca carries out through countless initiatives, and we at L'Immagine Ritrovata Group are honored to have taken part in this great success!
The restoration of the masterpiece by the Ferrara-born director, a world premiere on the screens of the Lido, was carried out in our laboratory in Bologna.
We therefore celebrate the great victory of the Cineteca di Bologna, which could not have come at a better time: this year marks the centenary of Vancini's birth, who won the Opera Prima Award at Venice in 1960.
